Biography —
Morteza Hashemi is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at the University of Kansas (KU), Lawrence, KS. He received his MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Boston University in 2013 and 2015, respectively, and BSc degree from Sharif University of Technology in 2011. Before joining KU in 2019, he was a postdoctoral researcher and senior lecturer at the Ohio State University, and senior Research Engineer at the Sony Research Lab in California.
Research —
His research interests span the areas of wireless communications, information systems, real-time data networking, and networked cyber-physical systems.
Awards & Honors —
In 2021 and 2022, he was the recipient of the Bellows Scholar Award from the University of Kansas. He received the Boston University Provost’s Award for excellence in research in 2014.
